There was a bit of a mistake in my veg order...it was an accident but now I'm up to my neck with Belgian endive! Actually I'm not all that tall but it's still a lot of endive! That's about the most interesting thing I have to write about. I never have a lot to write about though so I guess that's doing rather well. Regan made Basil a coat. That's new. He tried to eat it. Apparently he doesn't like clothes as much as she does.

Emma! Rose! What is the plan for tomorrow? And don't tell me there isn't a plan because I'm horrible at last minute things. It never ends well!

Dec. 27th, 2008

I hope everyone else had a great Christmas too! It's nice to go home for the holidays but it's good to be back, family can be a lot sometimes. It was great seeing everybody, Morgan looks bigger every time I see her, I can't believe she still has a couple months til she's due. I saw most of Dad's family on Christmas eve and all of Mum's side on Christmas day. I can't even remember the last time I saw so many relatives. Well, I guess Morgan's wedding. So I suppose I can remember after all!

I like to think Basil had as much fun as I did. He got spoiled with treats, of course, and had pets and love just lavished upon him. Though he did have to put up with a couple of children, he was pretty good with them. He also tolerated the hat Reagan put on him, which is probably even more impressive!

Picture )
I think he looks dashing, personally.

He didn't mind the trip but I can tell he's glad to be back. He's just used to it being him and me, not a pack of people! Since we got home he's just laid here on the couch, wanting to snuggle. Dogs are wonderful!

Um, what's with all the pipes and ornaments outside?

Dec. 17th, 2008

I nearly got a concussion yesterday, trying to avoid all those leapers! You think after the first couple falls they'd have at least helped me up. Today is much better! I think I might have had a dream like this once, actually.

Nov. 28th, 2008

I think I did something a little...foolish. Maybe. Out of order at least, I think. The dog I'd fallen made friends with, the one I named Basil? I found out that someone else was looking at him and I know I should just be happy that people finally want to give him home but now I've started to like him so much so...I took him. Well, I didn't actually take him. I don't think the shelter likes it when you just come in and take animals and go. I'm pretty sure there is a rule against that. If not there really should be. Anyway, I filled in all the forms properly like you're supposed to so he's officially mine.

Only, the out of order part is that my flat doesn't actually allow pets. Which is why I hadn't gotten him before but when I knew I might not have a chance I did it. And Tig has been easy to hide but I'm sure a full grown dog might get some attention. Especially when I walk him outside. I'm sure my landlady will notice that. So I'm now looking for a new flat, I suppose. One that is Basil friendly.

Nov. 12th, 2008

Alright, I've decided I have to want to move. This isn't how I originally though it would happen, but I guess what's important is that things happen anyway, in the end, right? I like my flat, it's nice and I'm very comfortable here but Things come up. Also that whole fire thing was a little frightening and I never really liked the ashwinders.

My building doesn't allow pets. Which is a very unfriendly sort of rule, because pets are nice and I think I've heard they are actually good for you. Having pets prolongs your life. And besides! They love you no matter what you do and are always there and always excited to see you and don't leave are cute. So...obviously I should live in a place that allows pets. It just makes sense. To me.

Morgan and I went to the shelter, I explained why I wanted to get a new pet and she thought it was a good idea too! Only now that I've gone and met all the dogs I can't back out. Which means I'll have to move. I think I'll go back tomorrow and see this fellow, Basil. He's two years old and has already had three homes! But he's so sweet and nice and a little scared but not in any bad ways, just likes to be around others in case he gets uncomfortable, so I don't understand why anyone would have given him back! Always getting rejected like that? It's not fair! To Basil, I mean. He likes to play Hide Under The Blanket and Hold The Nose.

Nov. 3rd, 2008

As bad as it was being woken up because of the fire and finding out I have to find someplace else to stay for a week I'm lucky. I'm not on the first couple floors, they took all the damage and luckily mine and all my stuff is ok. It was kind of scary, actually. I never really liked those ashwinders always being around. It's startling when something just bursts into flames! Right there near you! I guess I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner!

I'm so excited that it's October. Because it's that much closer to Halloween! I love Halloween. I know I say that about almost every holiday but I really mean it, Halloween is my favourite holiday! Pumpkins and caramel apples and costumes and decorations, it's all just so fun! You get to be so creative with Halloween stuff.

I think pumpkins, really gourds in general, are my favourite vegetables. Few foods can be used for food as well as decorations! I cleaned out a couple to practice carving on and I think I'm going to candy the seeds, they're really good that way. I figured while they were cooling I could share my excitement!

Sep. 7th, 2008

I don't even know any more if I'm upset or distraught! First everyone comes down with uncontrollable bouts of sneezing and we're short handed. And I should mention how much of a bad idea it is to try chopping in that situation! But IT'S ALL MY OUR the pepper we got in last week was the cause of everything!! I want to just hide in my flat How do you even get sneezing powder into pepper! There should be a better screening process! Audrey says it's not my our fault but I'm never letting anyone else doing the ordering or receiving again!

Aug. 26th, 2008

I'm so proud of my little sister. She got a job working at Gladrags. It might not be as exciting as she hoped but we all start somewhere. I went back to my last job today, at the Grand and saw some of my old co-workers. I managed to talk Bruno into lending me some sorbet molds I haven't been able to find. It was strange, being back there. It made me a little nostalgic but grateful at the same time! Very grateful, since Bruno wasn't in the best mood!

I don't think pancakes and annihilation go well together. Not really. Pancakes and bacon do. Or blueberries!

They were nice though! I mean, cleansing fire doesn't sound good but they do wish for peace too. And they are holding a pancake breakfast. Pancakes can't be scary.

I'm very excited, not about Margoth or pancakes, though pancakes sound good now. My little sister is coming up tomorrow! She just finished with school in June and she has a couple interviews during the day. But she's going to stay with me for the weekend! Catch up and all. I'm even leaving Chelsea in charge at work the whole time. I'm not nervous it'll be okay

I think I'll make pancakes...

Jul. 27th, 2008

Yesterday was so much fun. I love weddings! I wish I could get married. Or at least that I knew more people getting married. It's a lot more fun to attend than to work.

I just got an owl from my sister, Morgan, she wants to have dinner tomorrow. I can imagine a lot of things that it might be about, it is Morgan, but I hope it's good. It can't be anything really bad or she wouldn't have owled, she would have just come over. I think. That's what I would do.

I love brie! It really isn't a healthy meal but it's SO good! I can't help myself.

I think I want to get a palm reading tomorrow. That would be neat!

There's really nothing I can think to write about. Tig discovered garlic, I can tell we were destined for each other because I think he likes garlic even more than I do!

I really With Bryce like Technically does that really count Merlin, I don't know, I think, I need to go make something. A galette?

The weekend was interesting but I'm sort of glad it's over. Not having to wonder what I'll wake up as is nice.

May. 16th, 2008

I think this is one of the strangest thing to happen to me yet. And I had to spend the night as a burro once.

May. 11th, 2008

After that nightmare experience on Thursday I can safely say all my ingredients are guaranteed not to come with any surprise side-effects. Like setting fire to tongues. Unless that's whats wanted. But then that wouldn't be a side-effect... Anyway, I was clearing out the tainted spice and decided to go organic, it's better for everyone involved and I think people appreciate it even if it costs a little more

I bought my mother a jar of chestnut flower honey, it's her favourite, but had to splurge and pick up some bhut jolokia peppers while I was out. I guess Thursday is to blame. They are currently the world's hottest chile and this batch is destined for a curry. Granted I won't even be able to get home to see mum until late tonight so that will have to wait until tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm excited though.

I really hope Ellie didn't scare anyone with her post, she panics sometimes. It wasn't all that bad, my head doesn't even hurt right now! Not really. I knocked over a bottle of truffle oil and I thought I'd gotten it all up. Half the bottle spilled!

I'm excited I can finally say it's spring. That means it's almost summer and that's my favourite season. Winter just gets to be so dreary by the end. I'm always ready for flowers and green after just a month!

Speaking of spring...I think I'm going to go check out the artichokes at Matty's. They're usually pretty puny this early in the season but fried artichokes just sounds so great. By now even Matty's has to have a decent selection.

This is probably the first time I’ve said it since we got our space but…it’s fantastic to be home! It’s been such a busy week, not that I mind, but one thing after another and even I’m ready to flop down on my comfy couch! That and order takeaway. No, really! I think this is the first time since I’ve moved in that I’m going to say this but my fridge is practically bare!

Morgan made me drop my dress at her flat until next weekend…something about fearing it would stay intact? I wanted to ask her if she was relieved it was only a little over a week away but she had a floo call and wouldn’t stop yelling at them. I think, even if she’s not, I am, she's postponed so many times I was beginning to worry! Also, I bet whoever was on the other end of the floo will probably be relieved too. I mean, it’s a wedding! It's going to be fun! Even if I have to wear pink

I think I want Jamaican. I don’t think I’ve had curried goat in forever!
